About the opportunity

As the Senior Developer Marketing Manager, you will build and manage marketing programs that engage, educate, and inspire developers to adopt Contentful’s content platform. This role will report to the Global Team Manager of Marketing Campaigns and sits on the Demand Generation team. 

This role will be critical in helping Contentful establish our marketing funnel for the developer audience. You will work closely with the Developer Relations team to build out the top, middle and bottom funnel experience for Developer prospects. You will build programs that get Contentful’s brand in front of the right audience and programs that motivate our audience to start building their digital experiences on Contentful. 

This will entail advising on paid media spend, optimizing ad experiences, and A/B testing messaging and landing pages. You will also bring your tried-and-true remit of engagement tactics that have worked with you in previous roles. Have podcast sponsorships worked in driving awareness and engagement for you in the past? Do you recommend video advertising through a specific developer network? What to expect?

  • Partner with Developer Relations and other stakeholders to define strategic content development plans to support Demand Generation goals at the top, middle and bottom funnel. 
  • Advise on the paid media channel mix and budget to effectively build awareness with developers and drive Contentful Community sign ups. 
  • Initiate influencer marketing tactics to effectively drive awareness for Contentful to the developer community. 
  • Contribute to Marketing’s broader campaign theme by creating programs that are focused on reaching developers. 
  • Test and learn! Build out a framework for how we will continually optimize our developer focused demand generation efforts across tactics.  
  • Contribute to our campaign measurement framework, defining campaign-level KPIs and ensuring optimization in alignment with overall demand generation funnel targets.

What you need to be successful?

  • 8+ years of experience in a Developer Marketing, Demand Generation or similar position at a technology/SaaS company. 
  • Strong understanding of how to build awareness with and engage the developer audience. 
  • Excellent writing / communication skills; working knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive multiple simultaneous deliverables to execution with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, working with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity coupled with a highly analytical approach in assessing what is working and where to drive improved performance.  
  • Innovative, motivated, organized, high energy team player with attention to detail and sense of humor.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
