About the opportunity

We are looking for a Corporate Controller to build and lead our corporate accounting team as we continue to support the scaling of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the accounting function by providing leadership, process knowledge, technical expertise, and business collaboration. You will also have oversight and involvement with tax, equity compensation, technical accounting, payroll, banking and financial reporting. You will aid in the continuing development of accounting systems and automation, development of internal controls and procedures.

You will be a key driver and enabler in the development of people, process and technology ensuring data is readily available for management decision making, legal compliance, management and external reporting.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a fast growth environment, have built processes and procedures to allow organizations to scale at a rapid pace, and have experience that includes time in public environments and public accounting. Prior experience with SaaS or usage-based subscriptions is preferred.

What to expect?

  • Ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles, policies and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP
  • Plan and direct accounting activities to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures
  • Drive career development for the accounting team, be an inspirational leader to the overall controllership team, ensure a development focus is felt across the organization
  • Help prepare the company for public company accounting and reporting standards (e.g. SEC reporting and SOX compliance)
  • Lead a team of accounting professionals with responsibilities for the general ledger, tax, payroll, accounts payable and financial reporting
  • Work with the globally located accounting team to standardize reporting and processes and drive group activities to both comply with US GaaP and adhere to local rules and regulations.
  • Own the relationship and lead engagements with professional advisors including the companies auditors, tax advisors and other experts.

What you need to be successful?

  • 10+ years experience, combination of public accounting and public company operating preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management required;
  • CPA designation is required;
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX and US regulations
  • Superior leadership aptitude with the ability to hire, manage, and mentor, high-performing teams 
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
