I am really excited that 2019 is just around the corner. Even though it's coming into holiday season we're still hard at work pushing improvements and updates to Contentful that you can check out on . In this month's update we'll be highlighting combining Mailchimp with Contentful Webhooks, GraphQL schema stitching, and some services to make building things simpler.
A loosely-coupled approach to creating Mailchimp campaigns with Contentful webhooks
Chris Knowles, a developer based in Melbourne, Australia, joined our contribution program this month. He created a detailed guide on how to leverage Contentful's webhook feature to automatically generate email notifications on new content via Mailchimp.
API mashup: Combining APIs using GraphQL schema stitching
Last month, my colleague, Rouven Wessling took the stage at GitHub Universe to talk about combining APIs via GraphQL schema stitching. In his talk, Rouven uses schema stitching to annotate the GitHub API with metadata about the repositories and users in an organization, resulting in a more powerful API that's ready to build great tooling with less effort. The recording of the talk is out and ready for some love. Grab a warm drink, get cosy, and enjoy the show.
10 services pragmatic makers should know about
Julien Vallini, an independent maker from France, compiled a list of his 10 favorite services he uses when creating projects. Julien is a strong proponent of "delivering value without a single line of code", through the usage of external services and we're proud that he's chosen to include us in his list. Be sure to check his post out and let me know if you discover something new!
