A
Asset
A media file such as image, video, audio file or PDF. In the web app, assets are stored under the Media tab.

Content type
An entity that serves as a template for an entry and defines its structure. Content type is created on a space level. Its smaller building blocks are fields. Content type is a building block of a content model.
Content model
A structure for content in a space that consists of content types and references between them.

Entry
A single record of content based on a specific content type.

Field
A building element of a content type and an entry that has a defined format and customizable settings. There are various standard types of fields in Contentful, e.g. text fields, media fields, reference fields that have various custom settings to be applied to them.
L
Locale
An entity that represents a region-language pair that can be enabled for fields, entries, and assets to create and manage their version in a specific language.
O
Organization
An entity that serves as a company account and is used for administration. It is at the top-level of entities hierarchy and contains one or multiple spaces.
R
Reference
A relationship between entries that allows you to link one or multiple entries inside of another entry.
S
Saved view
A saved view is a search that you is pre-set using filters and search terms. Saved views can be private to only you or to a specific team you set with roles and permissions.
Space
A workspace that contains all content and media for a project and has its own content model.
U
User
An account used to access the web app to work with content and other data. A user is assigned a role that defines what this user can access and do.
V
Validation
A setting that checks whether data entered in a field meets certain criteria. Validations differ among the field types - for example, it can be specifying a required number of characters. Validations are set in the Validations tab of the field editor in the web app.
