Effective as of October 16, 2020
We have implemented a cookie consent manager on our website and in the Web App. In addition to browser settings and various opt-out mechanisms described further below, you can use the cookie consent manager to change your cookie preferences.
To view the current list of cookies implemented in our website and to manage cookie preferences, please click the “Cookie Preferences” link at the bottom of the website. To do the same in the Web App, please visit the “Account Settings” page.
This cookie notice is part of our privacy notice, which also includes additional details about our processing of your personal data and your rights. Our privacy notice is available at contentful.com/legal.
A cookie is a small text file (often including a unique identifier), that is sent to a user’s browser from, for example, a website and stored on the user’s computer or other device (such as smartphones). A cookie stores a small amount of data on such a device about a visit to the website, app or service that sets the cookie. We may be able to combine knowledge of your viewing of a webpage or receipt of a message to other information about you, such as your information as a registered Contentful user.
We may also use technologies such as web beacons (also known as clear GIFs or pixel tags) on our website, emails and services to inform us if you have visited a certain webpage or opened a message. A web beacon is typically a one-pixel image (clear or possibly also a visible image), located on a web page or in an email or other message. It verifies the viewing or receipt of a web page or a message. Web beacons help us understand how you came to our website (for example from an advertisement on a third-party website). Beacons also help us measure success of email marketing campaigns and improve website performance.
First-party cookies are cookies that we place on your device. For first party cookies, please also review our privacy notice that applies to our processing of personal data.
Third-party cookies are placed and accessed by some of our third-party service providers. Third-party cookies are subject to the privacy policies of such third parties. Third-party cookies may be able to recognize your device when it visits the website or service platform from which it was set but also when it visits certain other websites, apps or services. Typically this occurs for example with advertising cookies placed by advertising networks such as Google.
Session cookies are temporary and only stored on your device while you are interacting with the webpage or service.
Persistent cookies are stored on your device for a period of time after you leave the webpage or service.
Necessary cookies enable you to navigate our website and to use certain website and service features. Without necessary cookies, they will not perform as intended and we might not be able to provide the website or certain services or features. Necessary cookies cannot be disabled.
Preference cookies enable us to remember information that changes the way our website or service behaves or looks, such as based on the region you are in or the language you prefer.
Statistics cookies help us understand how users in general interact with our website or service by collecting and reporting anonymous information.
Marketing cookies help us and third-parties display advertising that is more relevant and engaging for you.
The legal basis for processing your data when using cookies is GDPR article 6.1(a), that is your consent that we will request via the cookie consent manager on our website and in the Web App. In other jurisdictions, such as subject to the CCPA, you may be able to opt out of cookies by using the options laid out below. For any technically necessary cookies the legal basis of data processing is GDPR article 6.1(f), that is our legitimate interest to offer an appealing and functioning website and Web App.
Please review our privacy notice for all the rights you have in respect of your personal data that we may process in the context of cookies. Additionally, you can object to processing your data by choosing whether to accept cookies. You can also withdraw your consent in the cookie consent manager on our website and in the Web App or by changing the settings in your browser. For more information, please see below in “How to manage cookies”. If you disable cookies, your experience of our website or service may be impaired and some features may not work as intended. Cookies that have already been saved can be deleted at any time. Web beacons may rely on cookies to function properly, so disabling cookies may impair web beacons.
Sharing your personal data with these third-party marketing service providers may constitute a “sale” under the CCPA. To exercise your rights to opt-out of such sharing, please see the page “Do not sell / Data access request” on this site or contact us by using the contact details provided in “Who we are and how to contact us” in the privacy notice available on this site at contentful.com/legal.
Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies but also allow you to change settings to disable cookies. These browsers may also permit you to delete cookies already placed on your device. Please refer to your browser’s or device’s instructions on how to disable and delete cookies. To learn more about managing cookies in general please visit allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies.
You can also adjust your cookie preferences in the cookie consent manager integrated in our website and our Web App. You may also use it to see a current list of cookies implemented on our website and in the Web App. Please note that the cookie consent manager may not be able to identify or/and block every cookie.
There are several third-party browser extensions (such as Ghostery and Privacy Badger) that can be installed in web browsers to identify and block cookies and help control tracking.

With respect to specific ads and ad networks, please refer to their privacy policies to better understand how their advertising networks operate and how they are able to display our advertising to you in their own and third-party apps and websites:
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the ad provider’s server. We have no influence on the extent and further processing of the data collected by the ad services through the use of such tools and therefore inform you according to what we know: the providers receive information that you have retrieved the corresponding page on our website, or that you have clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with the ad service provider (such as Facebook), the provider can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will obtain and store your IP address and other identifying information.
