A continuous delivery pipeline is integral to delivering new software features efficiently. Contentful integrates seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines, enabling content model changes thanks to its migration tooling. With the addition of custom aliases, propagating content model changes is safer than ever before.
Integrating Contentful into a continuous integration pipeline enables changes to a content model and migrating data as part of the deployment process. It also allows for testing content changes and canceling a deploy process, thereby preventing interruptions or downtime. With custom aliases on our Enterprise plan, it’s now possible to create permanent staging, QA and production environments directly in Contentful.
Watch this tutorial from Contentful Developer Evangelist Shy Ruparel and Software Engineer Janko Marklein as they guide you through setting up a CI/CD pipeline using the Contentful migration DSL, environments and custom aliases.
Key takeaways:
Getting started with Contentful’s migration tooling
Using environments and custom aliases to set up production, QA and staging environments
Configuring a continuous integration pipeline with CircleCI
