What are cookies?
A cookie is a bit of text that websites can save to your browser when you access the website. They can have many uses, for example, counting how many people have visited a website, targeting advertising, or keeping track of one’s shopping cart at an online store. We use them to improve Contentful as one of the leading Content Management Systems.
Why enable cookie consent?
Cookies provide us with valuable data to help us understand how people use Contentful and how we can improve it for our users. A use case would be to find out where people get stuck while using the website. We would then use this information to update the website's design to make it easier for people to navigate where they would like to go. Without this information, it’s much harder for us to figure out how to improve Contentful and provide more value for you, the user.
Setting your preferences
When visiting the web app for the first time since this change, you’ll be presented with a cookie consent banner. Set your preferences and then click the Save button. Or, if you’d like accept all cookies, click Accept all. We’ll save and respect your preferences.

Note: Different banners are displayed for different regions and their respective laws. The banner you see is compliant with the laws present in your region.
How to update your preferences
Note: You must be logged in to be able to edit your preferences.
In Contentful web app
Navigate to your account settings by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen and selecting Account settings from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down and click the Manage consent button in the Cookie Consent section.
A sidebar will open where you can edit your preferences.
Once you’re done editing your preferences, scroll to the bottom and click the Save button.
In Compose and/or Launch
Click on your user's avatar in the side bar.
Under your user actions area, click Manage consent. A Storage Preferences sidebar will open.
Edit your preferences as desired by selecting or deselecting the relevant checkboxes.
Once you’re done editing your preferences, scroll to the bottom and click Save.
NOTE: Storage preferences do not propagate from Contentful web app to Compose and Launch and vice versa. They are set independently in each of the three applications.
