Asset bandwidth
Overview
Asset bandwidth is the total amount of data used when all the assets (such as images, videos, and documents) are downloaded within a specific billing period. It also includes the data from assets stored and accessed through Contentful's Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), which ensure quick delivery of these assets to users.
View your asset bandwidth usage
To view your asset bandwidth usage:
Log in to the Contentful web app.
Click on the environment switcher.

Click the organization name, and select Organization settings & subscriptions.
Navigate to the "Usage" tab, and select Asset Bandwidth. The asset bandwidth overview is displayed.

Billing period information
You can view your company's billing period and the number of days remaining until it ends. This way you always know where you are in your billing period and when your used asset bandwidth is reset to zero.
The billing period is defined by the time frame in which your asset bandwidth usage is measured. This measurement is illustrated on a monthly basis starting from the day you signed your contract.
For example, if your contract was signed on the 15th of the month, your billing period would run from the 15th of one month to the 14th of the next month.
Included asset bandwidth
The asset bandwidth figure is the total amount available to your organization each month as part of your subscription. Any usage above this amount will result in overage charges.
Important: For Free plan users, once you have reached the included asset bandwidth limit (50 GB per month), the delivery API (CDA, GQL and CPA) will be blocked until the end of the current month. As a result, you won’t be able to deliver new content (including assets, such as images, videos) until the end of the current month, or until you upgrade your plan.
Used asset bandwidth
This number indicates the amount of asset bandwidth your company has used during the current billing period. It is updated daily and, in combination with the billing period and the included asset bandwidth, it helps your company decide if any action is needed to manage your usage.
For example, if there is a reading of 80% usage of bandwidth within the first two days of the current billing period, this information can help your company decide how to manage your bandwidth for the remainder of the billing period.
Top assets for your organization

The top assets consuming the most asset bandwidth in your organization are displayed in the Top assets tab, sorted by total usage for the current billing period. Data is updated daily.
Use this to identify which assets drive your bandwidth usage, see which spaces they belong to, and decide whether to optimize, remove, or resize them.
If you have access to an asset, its name is displayed in the table and you can click on it to open the asset page.
When the asset name cannot be displayed
If the "Asset name unavailable due to permissions" appears, it can be for one of the following reasons:
You are not a member of the space where the asset is located. This can happen to any role, including organization owners and admins.
The asset is in a non-master environment. Asset names are retrieved from the master environment only. If the asset exists in another environment, the name cannot be shown.
The asset was deleted during the current billing period. The asset correctly appears in the list because it consumed bandwidth, but it no longer exists.
In all cases, the asset ID is visible in the table. You can use it to locate the asset. You can share the asset ID with the team members who have access to the space.
How to find an asset using its ID
Navigate to the Media page of the space shown in the table.
Select the ID filter from the search drop-down.
Enter the asset ID in the filter field.
If the asset is not found in the master environment, try switching to other environments in that space. If it still cannot be found, the asset may have been deleted.

Usage alerts
When your organization usage reaches 50%, 75%, 85%, or 100% of your included asset bandwidth, usage alerts are automatically triggered and your organization owner or admin receives an email notification. For more information, see Usage alerts.

Space-level usage reporting
You can view asset bandwidth usage broken down by space. The dashboard shows how much bandwidth each space has consumed in the current usage period, both in GB and as a percentage of your organization’s total usage. This helps you identify high-usage spaces, investigate spikes, and allocate costs more accurately.
