Bind content to an experience

This documentation relates to Experience Orchestration, the name of an internal program focused on developing several new capabilities for the Contentful platform. It is not a standalone new product. The materials shared here are intended exclusively for customers and partners participating in the Design Partner Program and reflect our current direction at this stage of development; as the program continues to evolve toward general availability, details may change. These materials are confidential and not for onward distribution.

You can enrich your experience with content by adding it to components or fragments, as defined by the content properties and pre-binding rules at the component and/or template level.

To add content to an experience:

  1. Either access an existing experience or create a new one as described in Create an experience. The experience editor is displayed.

  2. Add content to a component or a fragment:

    NOTE: To add content to components and fragments in an experience, configure content bindings in your templates and components up front.

    1. In the left sidebar, go to the required component or fragment and click Add content card.

    2. In the Add content window, search and select the desired entry. The entry is added to your experience.

    3. Repeat the steps for another content type and entry if the component needs more bound content.

  3. Add content to a slot:

    1. In the left sidebar, go to the required component or fragment and click Add to Slot card.

    2. Select either a component or a fragment from a drop-down. Click Insert.

    3. Click Add content card.

    4. In the Add content window, search and select the desired entry. The entry is added to the slot in your experience.

    5. Optional: Repeat the steps to add another component or fragment to your slot.
